Certificate in Early Years Foundation Stage–Level 3


This qualification is designed to support you in developing and demonstrating the skills and knowledge required to implement the Early Years Foundation Stage. It integrates the four basic principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS):-

1. A unique child
2. Positive Relationships
3. Enabling environments
4. Learning and Development

There are no formal entry requirements however you must be working in a childcare setting with children aged birth-five years of age.

Achievement of this qualification is through observation in the workplace, discussion and reflective assignments.

The Award consists of the following 3 units:-

• Context and principles for early years provision

• Promoting learning and development in the early years

• Promoting children’s welfare in the early years

The Award is certificated through CACHE and may be used as evidence towards NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care Learning and Development.
