| NVQ Level 4 – Children’s Care Learning & DevelopmentThis programme is for those people working as Centre Managers, Senior Practitioners, Childminders or Pre-School advisors. You must have management or supervisory responsibility of other staff and may have an overall responsibility for the services provided.
There are no formal entry requirements but you must have significant experience as a manager or advanced practitioner in a childcare setting.
Achievement of this qualification is through assessment in the workplace and you will be required to submit a portfolio to show your competence in all areas of the qualification.
The Award consists of 9 Units – 4 Core Units and 5 Optional units. The Core Units are:-
• Establish and develop working relationships
• Support policies, procedures and practice to safeguard children and ensure their inclusion and well-being
• Support programmes for the promotion of children’s development
• Reflect on, review and develop own practice
The 5 optional units are chosen from a further 29 units and covers a wide range of work-roles. You choose the optional units that best match your job role.
