Who We Are

Our Focus

Our History

North West Community Services was established in 1986 to support people with learning disabilities and complex mental health needs to live in the community. Working closely with a number of Health Authorities in the North West of England to provide support to people living in small registered care homes. As demand for our services increased we worked in partnership with the NHS and Local Authorities to develop our services, which now include:

When we established our company we wanted to improve not only the home lives of disabled people but also their daily activities. We operated a number of day service schemes and went on to promote employment opportunities when we developed our supported employment services offering real job role support to enable people with disabilities to participate fully in the employment market. In 1986 we also set up our work based learning programs which were aimed at young adults entering the work place environment on youth training schemes. Over the years this provision has developed into Apprenticeships which offer a structured program to provide people with the skills needed to do their job well within their chosen profession. We also offer private training to other organisations and individuals.

Our Values

At North West Community Services we have built our culture and working practices on our values, which are:

Our values underpin our commitment to provide high quality person centered services to the people we support. Our staff teams work in partnership with the people we support, their families and health professionals to develop safe, caring and responsive services to enable them to live the life they choose. We ensure that everyone at NWCS understands our values and that they apply them to their daily working practices.

Safeguarding

We place great emphasis on the safeguarding of vulnerable adults from serious harm and abuse, in all its forms.  We have developed our services to ensure 'best practice' and partnership working in relation to safeguarding the people we support.

We have established effective partnerships with key agencies in relation to safeguarding.  We have developed very clear policies and processes to deal with any safeguarding concerns that are raised. We promote a culture of openness where everyone feels safe and able to share any concerns. When someone raises a concern relating to safeguarding they are always listened to and taken very seriously.

Our safeguarding polices and processes are communicated to all staff throughout the company. Our induction programme ensures all new employees understand our safeguarding policy in relation to their role.  Our Board of Directors are fully committed to ensuring that our safeguarding polices and processes are put into practice and we have established monitoring systems to make sure this happens.  The Board of Directors receive regular reports on all safeguarding allegations or incidents and ensures any action required to improve our policies and processes is taken.

Quality

North West Community Services is a customer focused organisation that is committed to providing high quality, person centred services.  We are always looking at how we can do things better because it is really important to us that we get our services right for the people who matter the most and they are the people we support.

We place great emphasis on seeking the views of our staff, customers and other partners. We encourage feedback and will take action if needed to deliver improvements to our systems and staff training to increase customer satisfaction.

We have effective quality management systems in place which have been accredited by the International Standards Organisation. You can read our Quality Statement which sets out our approach to achieving high quality standards across our company. This statement is our quality promise to our customers.

Customer Satisfaction

Customer satisfaction is very important to us as we have built our reputation on the quality of our services. We encourage feedback whether it is good or bad as it helps us to improve our services. Customer and staff feedback is an essential part of our quality management system.

We use the feedback from our customers and staff to find out what we are getting right and what needs to be changed to make things better for the people we support. This information is essential for us to make changes that will continue to improve the quality and delivery of our services.

We have produced a leaflet explaining how you can share your compliments, comments, concerns and complaints with us. Compliments are passed on to the people concerned and we use your comments to help us improve what we do.
